Aluminum Foil Boat Project? - aluminum boat corner
In my class, mechanical engineering, I got only a 6 "x9" sheet heavy foil. My mission is to keep a boat, how many coins as possible can make before it starts to flow (defined as drinking water).
I can just fold the paper cut is not allowed. Outside of the film, is the only device may not seal and hold the ship together. At least the ship should be able to keep at least 80 cents for me to get an A.
I suppose, kept the ship as a penny, if it has the largest volume. I think, want to make a simple box (top needs to be opened so that the pieces can fall) Signaling curved seats in the corners of the plate, and inwardly by triangles. I am also thinking of applying some calculations to determine what size carry the box around fields with the greatest volume.

If you are a good money, take all the parts with a mint date after 1982. Pennies after 1982 are less dense (almost 20% less dense!) Pennies, which were manufactured before 1982, because after 1982, they consist mostly of zinc instead of copper, so they are able to float more than one room so all produced after 1982. This will do more for you than a slight improvement in the design of your boat.
But the thinking in the design, consider this ... Weight of water displaced by the boat, is equal to how much weight into the boat with foil to float. To take the volume out on your boat, as the same amount of water weight and the weight that they can swim. So you want to maximize the volume of your boat with the soil surface, is allowed to use. But the idea of the "Cup", I assume that the design of paper over a glass or cup is not bad.
